Cemetery
West Point City Memorial Cemetery
West Point City Memorial Cemetery is located at 80 N 4000 W, West Point, UT 84015. The cemetery office is at the West Point City Municipal Center. Call 801-776-0970 with questions about plots, burials, or headstones.
Twice a year, on the first Thursday in May and the first Thursday in October (weather permitting), crews remove all decorations from the cemetery. Remove anything you want to keep before the cleaning date. Items left behind may be discarded. You may replace decorations the following day.
Buying a Plot
Plots can be purchased in advance through the cemetery office. Resident or non-resident rates are based on where the deceased lived at the time of death, not where the purchaser lives. Burial rights can be transferred to another person, but they may only be sold back to the City. All transfers must be recorded with the City.
Planning a Burial
Funeral directors must schedule the burial, sign an interment order, and pay all fees at least 48 hours before the service.
Remains must arrive by 3:00 p.m. for same-day burial.
No burials on Sundays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Pioneer Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Saturday and after-hours burials have an added fee.
Full-size caskets require a sealed vault. Urns and infant caskets have additional options. See the Plot and Headstone Layout guide below.

Headstones may be no taller than 36 inches and need a 6-inch concrete mow strip. Markers in the infant and urn area must be flat. Temporary markers are allowed for up to 6 months.
Decorations
Mowing season (April 1 to October 1): Place decorations only on the headstone. Fragile items like glass and solar lights are not allowed.
Holidays: Decorations may go on the mow strip for the week before and after Memorial Day and Independence Day.
Funeral flowers may stay for two weeks after a burial.
No fences, plantings, arbors, or items with glass or wires.
Visiting the Cemetery
Please keep voices low, stay on the roadways, and take all trash with you. Pets, alcohol, and motorcycles (except in a funeral procession) are not allowed. Report vandalism or theft to police or the cemetery office.
